Here are photos from Friday....the 10th of August!

I woke up early on Friday morning because we had Teacher Work Day and I had to be at school by 8am. First thing I saw when I walked downstairs was Luke's Birthday Banners & Balloon. 
Luke turned 6 on the 9th and we had his party on Thursday (his birthday) It was a Lumberjack theme. I had most of the party cleaned up the night before, but I like to leave the banner up for a few days to extend the celebration :)

The first couple hours of my Friday were spent in the school library in meetings, but at least they gave us coffee & bagels!
After our meetings, I headed to my classroom to get things organized & ready for the first day of school.

I picked up the kids from my Mother in Law and then we headed to the Elementary School for Meet the Teacher.

We are so excited about all our kids teachers this year!

We got home and Luke wanted one of his "sodas". For part of Luke's birthday present, Kevin's brother got Luke a 6 pack of Orange Crush and a 6 pack of Dr. Pepper. I don't buy soda, so Luke asked his Uncle for soda for his birthday. LOL!
Luke was very excited his Uncle came through with a fun gift.

Friday Night means Pizza Night at our house. Busted out the Rombauer tonight to say goodbye to an awesome summer and hello to a new school year. 
Not sure it pairs well with Costco pizza but, oh well!

Cooling off in the pool after dinner. Savoring one of our last Summer Nights!
Smokey Sunset...pray for California. So many wildfires in our state right now.
Kevin headed out to a guys night (one of his friends is moving to Boulder, Colorado....I'm jealous!!!) so I put the kids to bed and watched a couple episodes of Parks & Rec outside since the weather was so nice.
So, there you have it...a sneak peek of our 10th!

What's Up Wednesday is usually the last Wednesday of the month, but because of Hurricane Harvey, we decided to postpone it to this week. The guys on our court had their fantasy football draft and then we had everyone back to our house for a BBQ dinner. A Fond Farewell

The time has come. It's been an amazing 10.5 years of blogging, but all good things must come to an end, right? This is something I've been thinking about for months.  When will it be time to say goodbye to blogging? I have absolutely LOVED blogging.  It has been such a fun & a creative outlet for me.  I have loved sharing our lives with you, sharing recipes, printables, parties I've thrown and other day to day randomness with you. When I started this blog in August of 2008 it was a way to keep our family updated about our lives. It has changed and evolved the past 10.5 years in ways I never imagined. I am so thankful for all the people I have met & friendships I have formed because of my blog. It has given me amazing opportunities & for that I am thankful. I want to thank you, my readers. Homemade Vanilla Extract + Cyber Week Deals

I don't know about you, but I love baking.  I go through A LOT of vanilla extract each year.  Real vanilla extract is expensive! Anywhere between $8-$12 a bottle.  Years ago I heard about making your own vanilla extract, and it is so easy!  You only need 2 ingredients.  I thought I would share how to make it and it also makes a great gift idea for this time of year. Who wouldn’t be happy to receive a bottle of this?   It makes the perfect hostess gift when you are invited to a Holiday Party, a great gift for your child’s teacher, office staff, neighbors, etc!  Here is what you need to make 12 (2oz) bottles of Vanilla Extract:  Vodka (use the cheap stuff!!!)
